Judy Johnson

MEMBER AT LARGE

Judy Johnson, born in Manhattan, Kansas, grew up in San Diego County. She got her AA degree in Biology from Palomar Junior College, her BS in Entomology from the University of California, Davis, and her PhD in Entomology from University of California, Riverside. She began a 30-year career with the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Fresno, developing non-chemical alternative treatments for postharvest dried fruit and nut pests. She also began an outreach program, introducing the public to the wonders of arthropods through classroom presentations and exhibits at various events. Now retired, Judy spends much of her time birding and leading bird walks for the Fresno Audubon Society and San Joaquin River Parkway.
