Born in New Jersey and having lived in several states (MD, MI, IL, CO, WI, PA and CA) before moving to Fresno 34 years ago, Nancy is a retired Fresno State Educational Opportunity Program counselor. She and husband Garry began birding with Fresno Audubon Society (FAS) in 2009 and she currently serves on the FAS Executive Board as Membership Chair. Nancy also enjoys participating in FAS’s Earth Day activities. Within a few months of moving to Fresno, Nancy and Garry found it necessary to get involved in Fresno City and County land use issues. Since retiring from the university, Nancy’s been active in several political campaigns and is a member of the League of Women Voters of Fresno and the Fresno Police Department community-policing group in Southwest Fresno called “Bringing Broken Neighborhoods Back to Life.” She and husband Garry have enjoyed creating a drought-tolerant front yard and in their backyard, an urban bird feeding station.
